The Story of WANAKA

WANAKA Downtown is more than a commercial development — it is a story of family, sacrifice, and a vision carried across generations.

The story begins with the late Arbab Abdul Zahir, a hardworking and devoted father of three sons: Wahab Arbab, Nasir Arbab, and Kamran Arbab. Through hard work and determination, he saved for his family with the hope that his sons would one day have the opportunity to build something greater and live a better life than the generations before them.

He loved the name WANAKA, a name formed from the initials of his three sons — WAhab, NAsir, and KAmran. To him, the name represented his family, their unity, and the future he hoped to create for them.

Although Arbab Abdul Zahir passed away in 2013 before seeing this vision become a reality, his values and aspirations continued to live on through his family.

Years later, in 2024, the family began developing the idea of creating a modern, branded commercial destination. As the three brothers came together around this vision, they decided to revive the name their father had loved: WANAKA.

Today, WANAKA Downtown represents the realization of that vision. Developed as a modern destination for dining, retail, business, and lifestyle, it stands as a tribute to Arbab Abdul Zahir's hard work, sacrifices, and belief in a better future for his family.
